Father Bless Me
Gen 48:14 And Israel (Jacob) stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn. 15 And he blessed Joseph…
Because our mothers are emotional and often show their pains, most of us have come to conclusion that we need to please or care for our mothers only and their prayers are all we need. Going through the scriptures, I found out that most great men in the bible received their first blessings from their fathers. From isaac to solomon, all the great men had hands laid on them by their fathers or a father figures at one point or the other.
Mothers have a lot of roles to play in the life the children, which includes prayers however father’s hand laying is always the ice breaker. Even though jacob’s mother loved him and always wanted the best for him, she needed the prayer of isaac to break the ice. Many of us are languishing and running from pillar to post, when all we need is for our father to pray for us and break us forth.
As we celebrate father’s day today, I implore you, get something special for your dad or dad figure (i.e person acting as your dad or guardian) and let him bless you afterwards. Trust me you will see doors opening that you never knew existed. Seize this opportunity and say “father bless me!”
(Note: some the fathers did not really love them e.g Jacob nor were those fathers married to only their mother e.g Joseph. Meaning, it is not for you to judge your father’s character or his morality, all you need is his blessings to unlock your own future)
