Where Does Your Trust Lie?
“A bird sitting on a tree is never afraid of the branch breaking because its trust is not in the branch but in its own wings” by anonymous
Easily people will answer the question above by saying their trust lies in God. Hypothetically, if we are to remove God from the options, where would you put your trust? Difficult right! Many of us trust in our parents, friends, our connections, some trust in charms and others in chance and possibilities. But do you know that when the chips are down, you could be alone in a crowded room. *sigh
The first person we really need to trust is ourself. Know the things you can do and those you can’t. Know where your strength lies and where you are weak (everyone has weakness). Use your strength to your advantage and your weakness to plan what to avoid. Trust in your ability to achieve things you put you mind to. Learn not to overestimate yourself (it kills, you end up picking battles you can’t win ), and don’t underestimate yourself likewise (it will stop you from trying when you should have).
The sky is the limit for a bird that trust its wings, so also the top is the destination of a man that believes in himself. Put you utmost trust in God’s capabilities and always trust your own abilities for that is the key to self discovery.
