Obedience
1 Samuel 15:22 (KJV) And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
Saul was rejected as king because he failed to utterly destroy the Amalekites, instead choosing to keep the best of the best for himself and to sacrifice to God. But God didn’t want his sacrifice, he wanted obedience.
God wants your obedience, He wants you to harken to His words, He wants you to do as He has commanded, He wants you to be a doer of His words and He wants you to love Him. As a believer the only sin you can commit is disobedience because there is no law or principle you are not aware of, you can only choose to obey or disobey.
Ex 15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
Like a child when chastised by the mother, he still runs back to the mother for protection. Be like that even when God is punishing you for your disobedience, don’t start getting ideas, run back to God, so that he would welcome you back and protect you, King David is a perfect example of this.
In all my friends be obedient to God, that’s what He wants most from you, not your dance, not your offerings, not your tithes, not your prayers but your obedience first, then all others can follow.
