If Believers Won’t Lead

If Believer Won’t Lead

Deut 28:13 The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

Reading the above scripture today, I can’t but ask series of questions; if God promised believers the top, why is that position occupied by unbelievers? if the only thing believers are meant to follow are God’s commandments, why are believers followers of unbelievers? Is there something we are doing wrong? Or is there something we are not doing at all?

“If believers won’t lead unbelievers, then believers will have to follow unbelievers.”

Faith should not be a thing we pick up at the entrance of the church and drop at the gate on our way back home. Our faith should reflect in every of our endeavours, we should challenge the norms and ask questions of the status quo. Our God said we are meant for the top, that promise goes before us everyday but we need to tap into the promise by faith for it to manifest.

We must be hard working, we must step forward when the opportunity arises, we need to make ourselves available for quality positions, we must be available for God to use, we must remind God of all His promises till they are fulfilled in our lives. He promised we won’t be at the bottom, yet His words won’t go unfulfilled, therefore if you as a believer is still at the bottom then you need to ask questions of yourself and your faith.

Don’t let us shy away from responsibilities. Take up tasks, take up leadership roles; amongst friends, workplace, school, gathering etc let God shine through you, He said you are the light of the world. Even when you know in that institution evil abounds, don’t relent because of that, God would never command and not enforce. To make a change, to make an impact, to be an example…we need to lead and that is what God wants for and from you and me.
