When God Wants to Bless You
1 Samuel 16:11 So he asked Jesse, “Are these all the sons you have?” “There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered. “He is tending the sheep.” Samuel said, “Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.”
Reading this verse today, not like I am reading it for the first time but then I had never seen it in this light before. David was in the wilderness, toiling, working hard, suffering and most of all depending on God for a breakthrough. When it was time for David to be blessed, God sent Samuel to locate him against all odds and anoint him.
Here is the catch:
-Humanly speaking David didn’t merit the blessing because he was the youngest and according to Samuel the eldest brother looked more deserving
-David was not even in the vicinity of where the blessing is about to doled out
But when God wants to bless you, it doesn’t matter what people think of you, it is not about how you look or your personal strength and it doesn’t matter where you are…
I pray today whoever God has sent to bless you would not rest, would not sit down until you arrive to claim what is yours. In Jesus Name
Keep your hope in God; He is the author and the finisher of your faith. He would do a new thing, in your mouth He will put a new song and you shall be a blessing to your generation.
