Having The Courage To Change Things

Having The Courage To Change Things

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

If we are going to make change happen we must learn that, we would have to endure pains, confront criticisms, withstand intimidation and challenge the status quo. No matter what adversity thrown our way, we must know that we will have to continue fighting.

There will be people trying to discourage us, most times they will be our friends, families and associates but we must learn to stand our ground. We must not only keep walking forward, but we must also be willing to fight people trying to weigh us down.

We have to let the spiteful words of our haters go in one ear, and out of the other. We have to guard our hearts and protect their sanctity, while simultaneously protecting our integrity. This is not to say we would not be open to criticism but they should not discourage us rather help us to build on our conviction.

There may be threats to our life but this should not deter us, this should make us more resolute in our pursuit. Change comes at a cost, a cost bore by heroes, people who are bold enough to make the sacrifice. If it is what you want to be known for, it is worth all the sacrifices. It is better to stand for something, than to fall for everything.
